The Missouri EMS Funeral Response Team is a trained and dedicated Corps of EMS Volunteers that will respond to your department when requested. We are First Responders, EMTs and Paramedics who work and volunteer right here in Missouri. Our goal is to ensure that every EMS/Pre-hospital provider that pays the ultimate price receives the honors they deserve during the funeral process.

We provide Logistics and Honor Guard services, specialize in assistance, and support visitation and funeral procedures, including planning for both Line of Duty, Non-Line of Duty, and retiree’s deaths. It is our mission to represent all members of the EMS profession with honor, dignity, consistency and respect.

Additionally, we will also strive to provide compassion, support, and assistance to the families and colleagues of fallen EMS personnel and their departments. The Missouri EMS Funeral Response team can provide the following services to EMS agencies who have suffered an EMS provider’s death: Logistics & Professional Honor Guard services.

Assistance and guidance to your department with the visitation and funeral process begins with death notifications to burial. Assistance with recognizing and filing for Line of Duty Death benefits on the federal, state, and local levels for surviving families. Prompt response from our team with years of experience managing EMS providers’ funerals.

Operations

Operational members are a part of the honor guard procedures. Members are to attend training and the annual conference. Operational members are asked to travel to visitations and funerals. Members are asked to purchase a uniform within one year. If a member’s organization has a class A uniform, the member does not need to purchase thefuneral team uniform. It is requested that the members have a hat that matches the funeral teams. Memb ers are asked to participate in fundraising at their regional level as well as the state fundraisers.

Logistics

Members who serve on the logistics team work behind the scenes to make sure everything is planned out. Duties may include working with the venue to facilitate parking, assisting the support team with the family, helping set up the venue, etc. Logistics team members purchase a polo and dress shirt from the team and are asked to wear black pants/slacks or skirt.

Support

Support team members support team members, when possible, are asked to respond to visitations and funerals to assist families and assist the team in logistics and other areas as needed. Support team members do not have to purchase a class A uniform but are asked to purchase a team polo. Support team members do not have to attend training, as they do not take part in honor guard procedures. It is highly recommended that support team members attend training and the annual conference so members understand what procedures are going on. Support team members are vital in fundraising for the team as well.
